Audio Video

One of the more popular recommendations on the proper HDTV viewing distance is multiply the diagonal measurement of the display screen by 2.5. Example: 42" TV multiplied by 2.5 would be 105" (8' 9") between the TV and the Viewing position.

The short answer is, it's a user preference. But over the years, after probably hundreds of installations, the most popular height is somewhere between 4' - 6' aff (above finished floor) to the bottom of the screen.

Hi Peter and Gene, I have a question regarding some of the internet TV functions. I have recently started using VUDU/Netflix type services, and they work fine, however, the sound only comes through the TV directly, not via the receiver (no surround sound). I have played with the various settings on the receiver to no avail. Can you please advise what needs to be done to allow sound to come through the receiver when using the internet applications on the TV?

It seems you need an audio cable from the tv to the receiver. It can be a bit tricky. Here’s a tip. You can use one of the existing cables in the pipe we installed or the wall cavity as a pull string BUT you must pull another identical cable (as the one your using as a pull string) in with the new cable. Alarm

The Alarm Chime (beep) on our DSC alarm panels can be enabled and disabled by simply pressing and holding the chime button on the keypad for about 2-3 seconds. The chime button has a picture of a bell on it. The button will toggle between chime on and chime off, each time you press and hold it.

If you have one of our HAI Automated alarm systems, by pressing "0" then "0"again for off or "1" for on, will turn the chime either off or on respectively. Example:

"0","0" chime off

"0","1"  chime on

Central Vacuum

The beater bar and the suction are 2 very different components of your vacuum. The beater bar gets it's power from either the direct connect inlet on the wall, or the extension cord type plug attached to the end of the hose. If your vac hose is equipped with the extension cord type plug in, check the wall receptical next to the vac inlet for power by plugging in a lamp or a small fan to see if there is power there. If power is present, you may have a bad switch in the hose handle. If power is not present, you may have a tripped breaker in your electrical panel. If you have a direct connect inlet, Please call us for service or for a new hose.
